Eau Claire (WQOW) — The end of the school year means some area kids are wondering where their next meal will come from, but Feed My People Food Bank wants to ease their worries.

Along with many area schools offering breakfast and lunch programs, Feed My People hosts several pop-up pantries and offers weekend kid’s meal bags throughout the summer.

Staff at Feed My People told News 18 with school being out, families don’t always have access to the nutritious food their kids need.

“We work hard to find the places where the kids are,” said Michelle Pride, Feed My People’s field services specialist. “It’s easier if the kids are right at school, we know where they are, but we work to find places where we intersect with kids. We know that it’s helpful for families, even in the summer.”

If you’d like to help feed area families, Pride said they’re always grateful for monetary donations to keep their programs going. The best way to make a donation, volunteer, or find out where free meals will be is to contact Feed My People directly (at 715-835-9415) or visit their website.
