Barron (WQOW) – The superintendent in Barron is up for a big award.

The Barron Area School District posted on Facebook Monday that Superintendent Diane Tremblay has been nominated for Wisconsin Superintendent of the Year.

The nomination is through the AASA National Superintendents Association and the State School Board Association.

Tremblay was active in working to bring Jayme Closs back to Barron because Closs attends Barron schools.

“I am so humbled and honored with this nomination and I owe it to the awesome team of Golden Bears, staff, the board of education, as well as the community partners that I am fortunate to be working with,” Tremblay said.

The winner of the award will be announced in November. Whoever wins it will represent Wisconsin at the national level.
