Eau Claire (WQOW) – Eau Claire has a new place to buy fresh produce now that the government center farm stand is open.

It is on the corner of Lake Street and 2nd Avenue, right outside of the Women, Infant and Children offices (WIC) in the Eau Claire County Courthouse.

The stand will host two or three farmers every week.

Organizers said it is a way to support work-site wellness for county employees, while also providing area families and residents access to healthy food – all while supporting local farmers.

“The goal of that is to make it really easy for people to get fresh, locally grown, healthy fruits and vegetables,” said Eau Claire Health Department Public Health Nutritionist Susan Krahn.

Krahn said it is open to the public and runs every Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. until late September.
