(WQOW) – The interim CEO of Shopko Optical Jim Eisen told News 18 the optical store in Eau Claire will remain open as a free-standing location.
Eisen said the Chippewa Falls location will also be transitioning to a free-standing location, but the exact address has yet to be finalized. The old location will continue to operate until the new store opens.
Monarch Alternative Capital LP purchased Shopko Optical for $8.5 million last week. They hoped to open 800 free-standing locations this year with further growth in the years to come.
Shopko is expected to close all of its remaining retail stores by June 16.
