Police: Suspect at large after threatening man with butcher knife

MADISON (WKOW) — Authorities say they’re searching for a suspect who threatened a man with a butcher knife and attempted to run him over with a car on Madison’s east side Saturday evening.

According to Police Chief Koval’s blog post, officers responded to the 1700 block of Thierer Rd. around 7 p.m., when a 46-year-old man reported that he had been threatened with a knife.

The man told police that an altercation began when a suspect whistled at his girlfriend, and the man voiced his disapproval.

The man reported that the suspect then began wielding a butcher knife at him and tried to run him over with a vehicle, according to Chief Koval’s post.

Police say the suspect is currently at large, and attempts to locate possible video are underway.
