Eau Claire (WQOW) – After decades of serving up homemade ice cream in Chippewa Falls, Olson’s is set to open their Eau Claire location this week.
News 18 got an exclusive sneak-peak inside Olson’s downtown Eau Claire shop, located inside the Haymarket Landing building on South Barstow Street.
Owners of the long-running ice cream shop told News 18 they’re excited to add to the growth of downtown Eau Claire.
“Eau Claire is a great community for families, and I think we’re just another business just to add to that great family feel,” said co-owner Jeremy Hunt. “Other business men and women who actually work down here, they’re able to come down for their local coffee. We want to be pretty much a Wisconsin-based company.”
Along with scoops of sweet ice cream, customers will have a full coffee bar – featuring Milwaukee-based Colectivo Coffee – and a deli-style food menu to choose from.
Olson’s will have a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, May 24 at 11 a.m.
Plus, they will be offering FREE trolley rides for customers throughout the busy Memorial Day weekend (1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 25 through Monday, May 27). Customers can park in the designated lot for Olson’s behind the Pablo Center (at the intersection of Graham Ave. and Gibson Ave.) and board the trolley there, or catch the trolley at one of the locations below:
- Olson’s Ice Cream (80 S. Barstow St.)
- The Lismore Hotel (333 Gibson St.)
- Phoenix Park/RCU parking lot
