Texas man pleads guilty in federal court to sex trafficking in Eau Claire

(WQOW) – A Texas man has pleaded guilty in connection to a sex trafficking case here in Eau Claire.

Friday in federal court, Robert Hosler of Austin, Texas pleaded guilty to two counts involving interstate communications and travel to engage in illegal sexual activity, and possessing child pornography.

Federal prosecutors say he responded to an ad posted by an undercover officer that offered sex with a 12-year-old girl.

He was arrested in Eau Claire on September 6.

Hosler faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years and a maximum penalty of life in a federal prison.

A sentencing date has yet to be set.
