Eau Claire (WQOW) – An Eau Claire man is facing charges for trying to take nude photos or videos of a woman at an Eau Claire tanning salon.

Nicholas Peterson, 34, is charged with attempting to capture an intimate representation without consent, invasion of privacy and disorderly conduct.

According to the criminal complaint, as the victim was getting undressed she looked up and saw a phone over the wall. The victim said she got dressed and took off running out of the building.

The complaint says a few minutes later Peterson came to the front of the salon to cancel his membership.

The victim told police Peterson likely used a chair in the room to reach over the nine-foot dividing wall. The wall does not go all the way to the ceiling.

Police found a chair in Peterson’s booth that had fresh dirt on it.

When police spoke to Peterson he said this was the first time he had ever done something like this. He also told authorities he did not take any pictures or video. Police asked Peterson why he put his phone over the wall then, and Peterson asked if it really mattered.

Peterson admitted to police he had a sex addiction and then said it was basically a porn addiction.

If convicted on all the charges, Peterson faces 21 months in prison.
