Update (WQOW) — Eau Claire Police tell News 18 they have a person of interest in custody in the armed robbery case at the Eau Claire Tobacco Shop on Gateway Drive.

An Eau Claire Police sergeant told News 18 that officers are still working to confirm he was involved in the armed robbery.

Eau Claire Police tell News 18 they are looking for a suspect after an apparent armed robbery Tuesday night.

An Eau Claire Police sergeant told News 18 that the man robbed the Eau Claire Tobacco Shop on Gateway Drive around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Police are searching for a white man, although they say they are still working to get an exact description. They say traffic cameras show he likely drove away in a white Chevy Monte Carlo.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
