Eau Claire (WQOW)- Car enthusiasts will be happy to hear there are five car shows planned for downtown Eau Claire this summer.
Scott Andersen, the promoter of the car show, said the first car show is set for Saturday.
Andersen said the free shows will be on Graham Avenue. The street will be blocked off from Gibson Street to Main Street.
He said so far there are at least 40 cars signed up, and anyone can come and show off their car.
He said there should be a wide variety of antique vehicles for people to look at.
“Anywhere from Model A’s, Model T’s, street rods, rat rods and even maybe some people will bring new cars up,” Andersen said. “Not really sure what’s going to show up.”
Andersen said he’s hoping about 100 people come out and enjoy the car show.
He said there will be also be a food truck on hand.
The Eau Claire City Council is scheduled to vote Tuesday, on whether or not to allow the car show to block off roads in downtown Eau Claire.

Meanwhile in Chippewa Falls, the city council voted to not make the Chippewa Falls Summer Cruise In Car Shows pay a $300 fee-per show to the Board of Public Works for all of the labor that goes into setting up traffic control.
Mayor Greg Hoffman said they want to promote tourism and the car show is a city event.
