Eau Claire County (WQOW) – An Eau Claire man accused of breaking multiple bones in his girlfriend’s face was sentenced Wednesday.

Stephen Jones pleaded guilty to obstruction, possession of narcotics and substantial battery in court Wednesday.

According to the complaint, the victim could not recall what provoked the 2018 attack. Doctors say she required reconstructive surgery.

Wednesday, Judge John Manydeeds sentenced Jones to one year in jail followed by six years of probation.

If he does not stay out of trouble during that time he faces another three years in jail.
