Sex offender sentenced for not updating his address

Eau Claire County (WQOW) – A convicted sex offender has reached a plea deal with prosecutors after being charged with failing to update his address with the state.

Nathaniel Hoyt was convicted of 2nd degree sexual assault of a child in 2001.

According to the criminal complaint, his whereabouts were unknown for nearly two years from 2016 to 2018.

He pleaded no contest to the charge.

Judge Michael Schumacher sentenced Hoyt to 18 months of probation.
