Eau Claire (WQOW) – Students at UW-Eau Claire were able to pick up some fresh produce without leaving campus.
Wednesday afternoon was the first-ever UWEC spring farmer’s market hosted by Blugold Dining.
Students could choose from fresh veggies and fruit. Most of the produce was from Wisconsin farms.
Market organizers hope students appreciate having another option on campus.
“We’re looking forward to providing healthy, fresh options for students on campus,” said Ashley Senk, marketing manager for Blugold Dining. “It’s something that students are always looking for, and it’s something we’re excited to bring to students.”
Senk said there are no official plans for another farmers market this year, but if all goes well she hopes to make it a yearly event.
