Man charged with dumping puppies pleads not guilty in court

WOOD COUNTY (WAOW) — A 56-year-old Marshfield man pleaded not guilty in court after being charged with dumping nine puppies in a garbage can, according to online court records.

Robert Wild made his initial appearance in Wood County Court Monday.

According to a press release, Mark Theobald, a door-to-door sales rep, heard what sounded like crying kittens coming from a trash container.

They have been recovering at the Marshfield Area Pet Shelter ever since.

The puppies all have cheese related names.

Wild’s bond has been set at $2,000.

A Wind Advisory is in effect for St. Croix and Pierce counties for the first half of the night, where gusts over 45 mph are possible.
