On Wednesday, Vander Wegen’s roommate told police they got into an argument over taking pictures of the snow at their home in the town of Clear Creek.

The victim said Vander Wegen was very intoxicated. He said he pointed a shotgun at him and said he would kill him, and later shot at his truck, hitting a tire.

SWAT was called in and Vander Wegen was eventually arrested after 1 1/2 hours of negotiations.

He returns to court in May. If convicted on all counts, he faces more than 18 years in prison.
