Eau Claire Co. (WQOW) — The Fall Creek man who pleaded guilty to killing his sister and her boyfriend in 2017 was back in court Wednesday.

What was originally scheduled as a sentencing hearing in Eau Claire County Court was changed to a motion hearing Wednesday for Wayne Price.

Judge Emily Long granted a motion from Price’s attorneys to withdraw, meaning Price will be appointed new counsel.

Their withdrawal comes after District Attorney Gary King sent a letter to the court last week. King raised concerns whether Price’s January guilty pleas were made voluntarily, after recent comments Price made to family.

Price acknowledged his lawyers’ withdrawal to the court, and agreed to the likely delays this would bring to his case.

A status hearing is now set for April 22, at 9 a.m.
