Eau Claire man gets probation for leading police on a chase while driving a snowmobile

Eau Claire County (WQOW) – An Eau Claire man accused of leading police on a chase while driving a snowmobile has entered his plea.

Dylan Johnson is charged with four counts including fleeing officers and operating a vehicle without the owner’s consent in connection with the January incident.

He and a then-16-year-old passenger rode through streets, yards and around homes before officers broke off the chase.

He was eventually arrested and admitted he and the teen had teamed up and stole a different snowmobile.

Wednesday, Johnson pleaded guilty to three of the charges against him. He was sentenced to three years of probation with a 60-day jail sentence stayed pending further order from the court.
