St. Croix County (WQOW) – A Hudson man was killed in a crash in St. Croix County last week.

According to the St. Croix County Sheriff’s office, Brian Foster, 35, from Hudson was southbound on Highway 35 when he tried to pass another car at a high rate of speed on March 27. Authorities say he went onto the west shoulder and hit the guardrail. The car went airborne and landed on the guardrail and then hit a tree.

Police say Foster was not wearing his seat belt and was flown to Regions Hospital in St. Paul where he died the day after the crash.

Alcohol may be a factor in the crash according to authorities.

This is the fourth traffic fatality in St Croix County in 2019.
