Eau Claire (WQOW) – There will be a new face leading the Eau Claire City Council.

Terry Weld defeated Andrew Werthmann to win the seat on Tuesday.

Weld picked up 6,790 votes and Werthmann had 6,087.

Weld, an Eau Claire realtor, was first appointed to city council in 2017. He won election as a candidate last year. Weld says he will lead the council, not steer it, and will encourage independent thinking.
