Eau Claire (WQOW) – It’s a positive event meant to inspire others and show how just one person can make a difference.

The Red Cross Heroes Breakfast celebrated the everyday people in our community on Wednesday who went above and beyond to help others.

That Includes Ann Dohm who gave her dental patient a kidney, the Chippewa Fire District and Lake Hallie Police Department for their response to the deadly Girl Scouts crash and Chris Kroeze for bringing attention to Jayme Closs when she was still missing …

The Hero of a Lifetime Award went to Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald for decades of work to improve the community.

New 18’s Savanna Tomei emceed Wednesday’s event.
