Feed My People announces $3-million building expansion, will double in size

Eau Claire (WQOW) – Feed My People Food Bank is announcing a building expansion that will more than double the size of the current facility.

They are planning to break ground on the $3-million project this spring and complete it in the fall.

So far, $2.4 million has been pledged, meaning $600,000 is needed to complete the project.

“We want to make healthy futures a reality for all those facing food insecurity. The project isn’t about a building. It’s about people. It’s about our community coming together to reach families who struggle to put food on the table,” said Emily Moore, executive director of Feed My People.

According to Feed My People. the expansion will help meet the rising need for food and develop outreach opportunities. They say since they moved to their current location, the number of people they serve has grown and produce distribution has increased by 620 percent.
