Eau Claire (WQOW) – New improvements are coming to the State Street Hill after the Eau Claire City Council approved a $2.5 million makeover.

The project includes replacing multiple water mains and sewer lines along State Street, as well as changing many high impact intersections. Roundabouts are set to go in at the Hamilton, Lexington and MacArthur intersections. The addition of a Roosevelt roundabout is contingent on the city buying a portion of a few properties and work wouldn’t being until 2020.

The city said the changes will bring better traffic flow for commuters, bikers, and pedestrians heading in and out of downtown. The bulk of the construction is expected to start mid-summer and will last roughly 6 months.
