Update: Menomonie Middle School lockdown lifted

UPDATE:
Menomonie (WQOW)- The lockdown at Menomonie Middle School has been lifted, according to Menomonie police.

According to the Menomonie Police Department, they received a report of an armed intruder in the middle school around 10:06 a.m. The school went into lockdown.

The complaint proved to be false.

Police say there were students located outside of the school during the lockdown. They were taken to the hockey arena at the Dunn County Recreation Park for their safety.


Menomonie (WQOW) – The Menomonie Middle School is on lockdown.

Menomonie police posted on Facebook they are on scene investigating a possible incident at the Menomonie Middle School and it is in lockdown.

Police say the children are safe.

You are asked to avoid the area.

More information will follow as soon as possible.
