Eau Claire (WQOW) – An Eau Claire man free on four different signature bonds is facing new felony charges.

Daniel Chance is now accused of trying to flee from officers. Police say he was driving up and down the road and on the bike trail when they were called.

As News 18 first reported last year, Chance is facing second degree sexual assault charges after his roommate told police she took a sleeping pill and woke up to Chance raping her.

According to the latest court records, when Chance was brought into custody he was extremely paranoid and told police he could see ‘body parts’ around him.

Thursday in court, a judge ordered that Chance undergo a competency exam. He’s being held on a $5,000 cash bond stemming from the charges filed Thursday.
