Eau Claire (WQOW) — The new year will be here before we know it, but some kids in Eau Claire got the jump on the big countdown.

The Children’s Museum of Eau Claire had its ‘Noon’ Year’s Eve celebration Monday. Families counted down to noon, instead of midnight. Kids made lanterns and noise makers, played with confetti and just had fun celebrating the upcoming year.

The museum’s director of marketing and events, Amie Winters, told News 18 this event was a great way families could celebrate a big event together.

“We know that parents are making date nights and stuff like that, and so there is a way to help the kids celebrate as well, the whole family to celebrate,” Winters said. “Come to the Children’s Museum, we’ll all count down together. Bedtimes aren’t ruined, date nights aren’t ruined, and everybody has fun, it’s a win-win.”

Winters also said the turnout for this event is always great, and there are already plans set to have a ‘Noon’ Year’s Eve celebration next year.
