Man in custody after chase in Eau Claire

Eau Claire (WQOW) – A chase that started near UW-Eau Claire ended with a suspect kicking an officer, according to authorities.

According to Eau Claire police, the chase started shortly after midnight with UW-Eau Claire police in pursuit. They stopped the chase and turned it over to Eau Claire police. Not long after that, they spotted the vehicle pull into the Regency Inn parking lot.

They tried to speak to the driver, Jace John, but then he took off on foot. Officers were able to arrest him near Kwik Trip on Brackett Avenue.

According to police, John resisted arrest and kicked one of the officers.

He is facing charges of resisting arrest, obstructing and battery to law enforcement.
