Eau Claire (WQOW)- Veterans are offered a free meal daily at Pizza Del Re in Eau Claire.

Manager J.R Thews said they’ve been offering this for two years now.

Thews says his dad served in the military, and almost everyone knows someone who served, so it’s important to give back to those who fight for our country.

“It’s just our way of saying thanks to them, because there job was way harder than ours,” Thews said. “My rough day, I may burn a pizza or mess up an order, but their bad day you know, it’s just our way of saying thanks and that we appreciate everything that they do.”

Thews said it’s important for vets to get to eat every day, and said some vets stop by for pizza daily.

Sunday, other restaurants are offering up free meals for veterans. Some of those restaurants include Tacos Juanita, Monk’s Bar and Grill, Northern Tap House, Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse,Green Mill, Texas Roadhouse and Applebees.

If you would like your restaurant added to this list please email us at news@wqow.com.
