Dunn County man going to prison after shooting person, running from police

Dunn County (WQOW) – The Dunn County man accused of shooting an acquaintance on Memorial Day will serve time in prison.

Shawn Goplen and Kari Blank are accused of shooting Bruce Sundstrom in the leg at his home after accusing him of stealing meth. They then ran from police and were eventually caught three days later in Rice Lake.

Goplen pleaded guilty to two counts in exchange for two other charges being dropped. He will spend five years in prison and will have to serve another five years of extended supervision.

In September, Kari Blank was sentenced to probation stemming from the incident.
