Diamond School of Dance to honor late student killed in Girl Scout tragedy

Eau Claire (WQOW) – An Eau Claire dance studio is hoping to mend broken hearts while raising money for a family grieving after losing a child.

Alicia Knopps, owner of Diamond School of Dance, is hosting an event in memory of Autumn Helgeson the first weekend of December. Helgeson, a former student at Diamond School of Dance, was killed over the weekend picking up trash near Lake Hallie.

The event “Dance for Autumn” will run from 3-5 p.m. on Saturday December 1.

Donations will be accepted. All of the proceeds will be donated to the Helgeson family.

3:00-3:20 Ballet (ages 3-5)
3:00-3:30 Hip-Hop (ages 10+)

3:00-3:40 Ballet Variation or Conditioning (ages 10+)

3:20-3:40 Jazz (ages 5-7)

3:30-4:00 Hip-Hop (ages 7-9)

3:40-4:00 Ballet (ages 5-7)

3:40-4:00 Hip-Hop Dance with Your Dad 

4:00-4:30 Ballet (ages 7-9)

4:00-4:20 Mom’s Hip-Hop

4:00-4:20 Hip-Hop (ages 5-7)

4:20-5:00 Hip-Hop (ages 12+)

4:20-4:40 Family Dance (Bring your whole family!)

4:30-5:00 Lyrical (ages 10+)

4:40-5:00 Lyrical (ages 7-9)
