(WQOW) – In a race that impacts everyone in the state of Wisconsin, Senator Tammy Baldwin has held on to her seat in the U.S. Senate

Baldwin held a sizable lead in the polls since the primary. Republican challenger Leah Vukmir set out to make sure Democratic Senator Tammy Baldwin only served one term in Washington.

Baldwin was elected to her second term in office. Before joining the Senate, she served in the house from 1999-2013. She is the first openly gay member of the Senate, and made health care and protections for those with pre-existing conditions a focal point of her campaign.
