Nearly 62 percent of registered voters have cast a ballot so far in Eau Claire

Eau Claire (WQOW) – At 5:40 p.m., 61.7 percent of registered voters had cast a ballot in the city of Eau Claire.

The midterm turnout across the country has high interested. Eau Claire County officials expect 55 percent of eligible voters to cast a ballot, which is 4 percent higher than the average gubernatorial election in Eau Claire.

“It’s amazing to see people coming out and getting interested in their communities and whats going on, everyone has an equal voice and it’s great to see everyone from 18-year-olds all the way up through their 100s, they are voting and taking an active interest,” said Eau Claire City Clerk¬†Carrie Riepl.
