Jeff Smith defeats two other candidates for District 31 Senate seat

(WQOW) – The seat for the District 31 Senate seat was wide open after Kathleen Vinehout’s attempt to run for governor.

Three candidates were running for the seat – Democrat Jeff Smith, Republican Mel Pittman and Green Party candidate Aaron Camacho.

Once the voters were counted, Jeff Smith came out on top – winning a four-year term in the Wisconsin Senate.

Smith won a three-way race in the primary to earn the nomination. He previously severed two years in the Assembly.
