Chippewa Falls (WQOW) –¬†Following the weekend tragedy in Chippewa County, a local salon is showing its support with streaks of green.

For the rest of November, ‘Shades of You‘ in downtown Chippewa Falls, is offering green hair extensions to honor the mother and three Girl Scouts killed in a hit-and-run crash by an alleged impaired driver last weekend. Instead of charging for the extensions, the shop is asking for a donation.

Owners Morgan Crabb and Zech Galindo told News 18 they just started the fundraiser Tuesday, but the response has already been heartwarming.

“As terrible as the situation is, this small event we’re doing might give them a little bit of reprieve,” Galindo said.

The stylists at ‘Shades of You‘ were all once Girl Scouts, so they knew they had to give back in some way.

“I feel like this has affected so much youth, that I think if these kids see each other and see that they’re all representing the same thing, maybe they’ll find some comfort in that,” Crabb said.

If you wanted to get a green streak for yourself, just give the shop a heads up so they can make time for you. If some green hair isn’t your thing, you can stop in and leave a donation. Crabb and Galindo added that 100 percent of the money collected will be donated to the account the Hallie CCFBank has set up for the impacted families.
