Veterans receive free dental care in Eau Claire

Eau Claire (WQOW) –  On Saturday, the Dental Clinic at CVTC once again offered a chance for veterans to receive free dental care.

The ‘Give Vets a Smile’ was for any veteran, without other dental benefits, who has a current military ID or is enrolled in VA Health Care. Dental hygiene services available include a BP screening, oral assessment, patient education, dental cleaning, x-rays, dental exam and fluoride treatment. Other services available include fillings, extractions, limited root-canal therapy, and limited denture services.

“We just feel that from an educational standpoint, from a community service standpoint and really giving back to the veterans, this is a really important day for us,” said Pam Entorf, program director of Dental Hygiene at CVTC.

Dental care was not the only service offered on Saturday. Services like physical and respiratory therapy, blood-sugar glucose testing, and more were also available.

All work performed on Saturday was done by dental hygiene students, dental assistant students, staff and licensed dental hygienists, licensed dentists and volunteers.
