(WQOW) – Five hundred dollars worth of books will get a lot of attention from an excited class of fourth graders!

Every month, WQOW, Ashler Lasting Exteriors and CCF Bank give a $500 grant to a local school to help in the classroom.

This month’s is going to Brittany Dressel, a fourth grade teacher at the New Auburn Elementary School. She’ll be buying age-appropriate reading materials for the classroom library.

“We’ll be putting them in our classroom library for them to check out and read on their own time, when we do silent reading or partner reading,” Dressel said. “I’ll also look into doing small-group reading and getting six copies of the same book and then we can go through them together for their circles.”
