Eau Claire man sentenced to 25 years in prison for sexually assaulting a child

Eau Claire (WQOW) – An Eau Claire man will spend more than two decades in prison for sexually assaulting a child.

Jeromy Mathews, 48, was charged last year after a boy reported the assaults to people at his school. The boy said the assaults started when he was five or six and continued for six years.

Mathews was sentenced to 25 years in prison and more than five years of extended supervision when he is released. He must also register as a sex offender.
