Eau Claire (WQOW) – Halloween wasn’t just about trick-or-treating for the 4th and 5th graders at Altoona Intermediate School.

The kids dressed up in their Halloween costumes to impress the senior citizens who live at River Pine and Prairie Pointe. The kids shook the hands of the residents and created handmade holiday cards for them.

Karen Park, the Activity Director at Grace Lutheran Communities, said Wednesday’s event was nostalgic for the seniors.

“The people here love having the kids its just been such a special thing, it brings smiles all the way around the kids see that, it been great for us and I think its a good experience for them,” said Park.

Park said the seniors could not wait till next year’s Halloween visit from the kids.
