Eau Claire (WQOW) – Trick-Or-Treating started early in Eau Claire. Ghouls, goblins and witches ran the parking lot, instead of the streets, for the annual Trunk or Treat event.

Trunk or Treat calls for decorating the trunk of your car. Kids walked from the car to car collecting candy; it’s just like trick-or-treating from house to house. Staff at St. John’s Lutheran Church said Trunk or Treat is an event that gives kids a safer way to trick-or-treat. Several participators said they had a great time getting into the spirit of Halloween.

“It’s you know, Halloween time,” said participant Brian Wagner. “it’s Trunk Or Treat. It’s ‘let’s go collect candy’. Kids enjoy that. They love to get dressed up and go through the motions of getting all the candy and stuff like that.”

Wagner said he has participated in the event for years. This year his car was dressed up as a bee, which he said was his daughter’s idea.
