Eau Claire (WQOW) –
Child sexual assault charges were filed Monday in a case that has captured lots of local attention.

Arthur Simmons Jr., from Eau Claire, was charged Monday with first-degree child sexual assault. Prosecutors say he sexually assaulted a young girl sometime between 2007 and 2010.

According to the criminal complaint, he gave Michelle Mayer a large rock of methamphetamine in exchange for sex with the child.

Mayer, from Eau Claire, was charged earlier this year with trafficking a child, being party to sexual assault of a child and child abuse. She’s accused of allowing numerous men to sexually assault two children and take nude photos of them, even injecting them with drugs so they could be abused longer.
