Eau Claire (WQOW) – Visit Eau Claire moved, and on Thursday staff worked hard to get ready for Friday’s grand opening.

Staff said the center  inside the Confluence building would be a microcosm of the Eau Claire experience. There will be a performance corner where live music will be played; there’s a community space that businesses can use for workshops, as well as food/drink sampling.

Linda John, executive director for Visit Eau Claire, said the center is not only for tourist, but a place where community members can mingle, find resources, and buy goods from local Eau Claire businesses.

“The artful people of our community, the creative entrepreneurs earning all of their stories and trying to put it all together in telling that story to visitors. I should say too that we aren’t just focusing on visitors here, we want this to be a place where the community can come as well, whether they bring friends and family, we want this to be a welcoming place for students,” John said.

The grand opening is Friday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will be live music, and a local pop-up shops featured.
