DeLong students to create ornaments for National Christmas Tree display in DC

Washington (WQOW) – Students at DeLong Middle School in Eau Claire are getting a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to help decorate for Christmas in the nation’s capital.

Fifty-six schools, representing each state, territory and the District of Columbia were selected to participate in creating ornaments that will adorn smaller trees surrounding the National Christmas Tree. DeLong Middle School was selected to represent the state of Wisconsin.

This year’s National Christmas Tree lighting ceremony will take place on December 1.

If you are traveling to Washington D.C., you will be able to see DeLong’s ornaments up close from December 1 – January 1.
