Eau Claire man reaches plea deal in child porn case

Eau Claire (WQOW) –  An Eau Claire man accused of possessing more than 100 images of child porn has reached a plea deal with prosecutors.

Matthew Nitz is charged with six counts of possessing child pornography.

Wednesday in court, Nitz pleaded guilty to two of the charges in exchange for the other four being dropped. Each count carries a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison.

Due to the guilty plea, Nitz will have to register as a sex offender. He will be sentenced in January.
