Eau Claire (WQOW) – A man accused of mugging and biting a woman in Eau Claire is going to prison.

Abdifatah Ahmed was sentenced this week by Judge Michael Schumacher to two years behind bars.

Police said in July, Ahmed approached a woman in front of Regis High School, pinned her against the wall with his bike and tried to steal her purse. The victim said he put his hand over her mouth, so she bit him. He responded by biting her face.


Eau Claire (WQOW) – A Barron man faces a felony attempted robbery charge after allegedly mugging and biting a woman in Eau Claire.

Police say Abdifatah Ahmed approached a woman at 2 a.m. on Monday in front of Regis High School, pinned her against the wall with his bike and tried to steal her purse.

The victim said he put his hand over her mouth, and she bit him. He responded by biting her face.

When police made contact with Ahmed, he was bleeding from his finger. He told police the injury was the result of smoking meth.

Ahmed returns to court next Tuesday. The charge carries a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.
