Eau Claire man charged with raping roommate while she slept

Eau Claire (WQOW) – An Eau Claire man has been charged after his roommate claimed he raped her.

Daniel Chance faces charges of 2nd degree sexual assault and felony intimidation of a victim.

According to the criminal complaint, in February, the victim said she took a sleeping pill and went to take a nap.

She woke up to find Chance having sex with her. His semen was found during the victim’s SANE examination.

She told police that Chance threatened to burn all her possessions if she went to police.

He is currently free on a $10,000 signature bond. If convicted on all charges, Chance faces more than 50 years in prison.
