UPDATE: Teen missing after parents found shot to death in Barron County

UPDATE (WQOW) – Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald told News 18 the two deceased adults are the parents of the missing 13-year-old, Jayme Closs.

Fitzgerald said they were killed by gunshots and their teenage daughter is not a suspect. He said finding Jayme is the department’s main focus right now. Fitzgerald said they believe she is in danger and is likely scared. He called the home a “violent crime scene.”

According to Fitzgerald, deputies had never been called to the parent’s house before.


Barron County (WQOW) – Two adults are dead and a 13-year-old girl is missing in Barron County.

According to the Barron County Sheriff’s Department, they received a call from someone asking for help at 1268 Highway 8 shortly before 1 a.m. Monday.

When deputies arrived, they found two adults dead. A 13-year-old girl was missing from the residence and is considered missing and endangered.

The girl’s name is Jayme Closs. She is 5 feet tall, 100 pounds, green eyes and blond or strawberry hair.

Anyone with information about her possible whereabouts or anyone that has contact with Jayme is asked to contact the Barron County Sheriff’s Department at 715-537-3106 immediately.
