Ryan on return to politics: “Never say never”

WASHINGTON (WKOW) — House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wisconsin) is not running for re-election, but during a visit to the National Press Club on Monday, he left the door open for a return to politics.

“You never say never to these things, ” Ryan said. “You know, I’m obviously going to be a cause guy, but frankly, I just want to spend 2019 just kind of reconnecting with my family, reconnecting with my home. Then I will figure out what the next chapter is.”

Ryan made his announcement about not running for re-election in April. On Monday, he said he’s happy with his decision.

On November 6, voters will pick a candidate to replace Ryan in Congress.
