ECPD arrest 4 during UW-Eau Claire homecoming weekend

Eau Claire (WQOW) – Eau Claire police arrested four people during UW-Eau Claire’s homecoming weekend.

According to Officer Bridget Coit, the department assigned additional officers to monitor homecoming activities from Friday, October 5 – Sunday, October 7. Officers focused their efforts in the Water Street bar district, and the Randall Park and Third Ward neighborhoods.

Coit said officers worked to identify issues and address them before they were able to develop into significant problems in the community.

Eau Claire police arrested four over the weekend: two for resisting arrest, one for identity theft and one for disorderly conduct.

Police also issued 28 citations, including eight for underage drinking, nine for open containers, five for public urination, three for disorderly conduct and one each for loud party, carrying a false ID and an underage person entering a tavern.

News 18 reported 45 citations were issued and six were arrested during the 2017 homecoming weekend.
