Sentencing set for man convicted of killing Rusk County deputy

Rusk County (WQOW) – We now know when sentencing will be handed down for the man convicted of killing Rusk County Deputy Dan Glaze.

Doug Nitek will be sentenced December 19. He faces life, plus eight years after a jury convicted him last week of first degree intentional homicide and five other charges. Glaze was shot and killed in his squad car on Halloween weekend in 2016.

Nitek’s lawyer told News 18 no decision will be made on whether to appeal the verdicts until after sentencing.
