Brewers beat the Cubs, win NL Central crown

(WQOW) – It took 163 games, but the Milwaukee Brewers have won the National League Central division title.

The Brewers finish the regular season with a 96-67 record after beating the Chicago Cubs Monday afternoon at Wrigley Field.

The two teams entered Monday needing an extra game to decide who would win the division. Both clubs had identical records at the end of the normal regular season, after 162 games.

The Brewers last won the division back in 2011.

The Brewers advance to the National League Division Series while the Cubs will play either the Dodgers or Rockies in the Wild Card round on Tuesday.
