National Weather Service confirms tornado in Pierce County September 20

Pierce County (WQOW) – The National Weather Service has confirmed a tornado touched down in Ellsworth during a line of severe storms that moved through Minnesota and Wisconsin September 20.

NWS officials reported it was an EF-0 tornado that traveled for 1.7 miles. It had peak wind speeds of 70 to 80 miles per hour.

That brings the tornado count to 16 that day between Minnesota and Wisconsin.
